We are looking for:
SurgerySterile Processing Veterinary Assistant
Our Surgery team is a fastpaced environment perfect for technicians that are looking for training in multiple facets of the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requires strong communicationskills to liaison between surgeons and clients and deliver postoperative care instructions.
What youll do:
Maintain proper inventory levels of all surgical supplies and surgical tools and accessories.
Stock pack and sterilize tools and equipment.
Sterilize and prepare surgical instruments in operating and surgical procedure rooms.
Stock sterilize package and prepare tools and equipment used in surgical procedures.
Maintain and repair surgical instruments.
Communicate with the operations team regarding offsite repairs to ensure timeliness and completeness.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of operating rooms tables and equipment.
Maintain OR sterility
Prepare an OR prior to the surgical team and patient entering.
Process and store equipment and instrumentation in accordance with hospital protocol.
Effectively use & maintain autoclaves for appropriate sterilization of instruments.
Examine equipment for defects and report problems.
Perform spore testing on the autoclaves and track results.
Order supplies.
Assemble instrument packs.
Distribute supplies.
Ensure sterile supplies are within their expiration date.
Proficient in calculations (drugs constant rate infusions unit conversions etc.)
Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
