Job Description

Sherwood Kids Elementary Coordinator

These role expectations are for a PARTTIME position (25 hours/week) with NONEXEMPT status. The supervisor for this position is the Sherwood Kids Director. You will work on the SHERWOOD KIDS TEAM.

Sherwood Kids Team Member

This parttime ministry leader will work under the direction of the Sherwood Kids Director and with the SK staff and volunteers to carry out the mission of Sherwood Kids.

Mission Statement: We are a community of families volunteers and staff members whose relationship with Jesus leads kids to experience who God is and how we love him.

General & Unique Responsibilities:

GENERAL

  • Provide highquality accountability care communication and decisionmaking for Sherwood Kids staff and leaders
  • Participate in SK vision casting policy development and event planning
  • Help manage SK events (VBX Parents Night Out Trunk or Treat etc.)
  • Interact with and encourage parents volunteers and children
  • Aid in inviting retaining and supporting volunteers
  • Help set up and maintain clean professional and safe environments
  • Help develop training materials for volunteers and host training sessions
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality integrity and grace when working with parents volunteers kids and other staff members

MINISTRY MANAGEMENT

  • Lead the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening program by
  • preparing curriculalessons and activities
  • inviting and placing volunteers keeping track of volunteers schedules and sending weekly reminders to volunteers
  • being present for volunteers children and parents during the programming

Work Schedule:

  • 25 hours per week
  • 5 hours would need to be spent on Sunday mornings to oversee the elementary programming
  • 23 hours would need to be spent on Wednesday evenings to oversee the evening kids programming
  • Attend SK Team Meeting (12 hours every other week)

Be willing to participate in activities that will help you grow as an individual a leader and a team member

When needed or if conflict arises address a situation with a team member within 48 hours from a posture of humility and with relational awareness

Personal QUALIFICATIONS

  • A we can do it and how can I help you team attitude with flexibility and adaptability in carrying out the SK mission and working with other staff and volunteers
  • A heart to serve children parents and volunteers
  • The ability to lead attract invite motivate equip and encourage volunteers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Word Excel Power Point etc.)
  • Detailoriented
  • Selfstarter
