POSITION SPECIFICS
The College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State is seeking an Instructional Designer to join their collaborative crossfunctional Office of Learning Design (LD).

The Office of Learning Design supports courses delivered inresidence online and in other formats. Our designers collaborate with and aid faculty with the development revision and delivery of their courses. We offer faculty development in a variety of formats and venues. Our team contributes to the larger community at Penn State and beyond through developing strategic partnerships and leading critical projects and committees.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will:
Provide the highest quality consultation to faculty and other subject matter experts on the design and development of our growing offerings of resident blended and distance learning courses.
Support active and collaborative learning in undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
Partner with a team of faculty and specialists to bring innovative learning solutions to life.
Advocate for the students perspective including our adult learner population as it applies to their learning.
Continually build upon their foundational knowledge of learning science and instructional design to advance the Colleges teaching and learning efforts.
The successful candidate will have a proven history of:
Designing innovative technologyassisted learning artifacts.
Collaborating with faculty in higher education.
Managing multiple concurrent and complex projects.
Applying excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Masters Degree 1 years of relevant experience Required Certifications: NonePreferred Skills:
Familiarity with current learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) generative AI tools accessibility standards and remediation and quality frameworks (e.g. Quality Matters) is desirable. Experience with faculty development and teaching is a plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988 Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
