DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker you will perform a variety of tasks in the custodial care of South Mountain Restoration Center. Your duties will include mopping and scrubbing floors washing and polishing furniture vacuuming and shampooing carpets cleaning lavatories and emptying and removing trash. In this position you will frequently move and lift furniture and equipment as well as prepare and deliver linen and personal clothing. You can expect to operate manual and mechanical equipment and use proper safety techniques to ensure maximum efficiency. Additionally you will clean assistive devices deliver supplies and participate in training to develop your skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:


Preferred Qualification:
  • Willing and able to work in Franklin County PA.
  • Work experience as a custodian janitor housekeeping or cleaning person in an assisted living facility nursing home hospital Correctional Facility Fast Food or Restaurant or Cafeteria is preferred. (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms offices or public areas; mopping scrubbing dusting sweeping buffing etc.)
  • Work experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas
  • Work experience removing snow trash and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways..
  • Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents.
  • Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop scrub sweep strip wax and buff floors.
  • Work experience in the following:
    • Operating floor scrubbing machine
    • Use of ladders to clean high areas
    • Proper handling of cleaning chemicals
    • Interacting with patients/residents
    • Snow removal from walkways and entrances
    • Changing light bulbs
    • Cleaning furniture
    • Mopping (wet or dry mop)
    • Scrubbing


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will requirea medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
