Supporting Library Specialist (Parttime 20 hours)
Are you energized by change love variety in your day and thrive in servicefirst environment As a Supporting Library Specialist at Arapahoe Libraries youll float between branches the bookmobile and our call centerstepping in wherever help is needed most.
This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility adaptability and a strong passion for public service. No two days are the sameand thats exactly what makes this work so rewarding. This role is parttime 20hours per week.
Schedule and Availability
Because of the changing needs of this position open availability is required:
MondayThursday: 9:00 AM 9:00 PM
FridaySaturday: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM 5:00 PM
What Youll Do as a Supporting Library Specialist
Patron Assistance
- Greet and assist patrons at various locations
- Handle account inquiries and transactions
- Answer reference and technology questions
- Promote programs resources and events
- Provide service via phone and online chat
- Deescalate concerns and create a welcoming environment
Materials Handling
- Shelve and organize library materials
- Maintain displays and library spaces
Team Support and Learning
- Stay informed on internal updates and services
- Share feedback with supervisors and collaborate with coworkers
- Adjust to changes and varied environments at each location
What You Will Bring to This Role
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in customer service libraries or education
- Intermediate technology skills and willingness to learn new tools
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel with short notice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for serving people of all ages and backgrounds
- A flexible mindset and comfort with frequent change
Preferred: Experience working with children or teens
