Reporting to the Operations Manager Specialty Pharmacy Services this position is responsible for theprovision of specialized clinical and/or MTM services to patients in a community/ambulatory setting. This position is responsible for providing refill authorization services to ambulatory clinics supervision of supportstaff and ensuring compliance with all legal regulatory and institutional directives. This pharmacist willinteract directly with prescribers and clinic staff to develop an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.Additionally the pharmacist will be responsible for the development and implementation of pharmacyprogram opportunities and will be expected to contribute to the financial viability of the program departmentand institution.
Participates in committees supporting refill authorization protocols and Epic development of tools to support workflows.
Assists in the development maintenance and implementation of pharmacy programs to support overall services for patients
Assists with devising developing and operationalizing programs to ensure proper use of medications and continuous quality improvement.
Collaborates with business intelligence group to provide appropriate reporting of program outcomes
Provides necessary support for service level agreements with ambulatory clinics
Job Related KnowledgeSkills and Abilities(Competencies):
The pharmacist will experience competing demands on their time from the volume of requests and willneed to effectively multitask and prioritize demands. The pharmacist must deal with time constraints andneed to exercise clinical judgement on a daily basis. The expectation will be to provide clinic staff andpatients with excellent customer service. Additionally within the healthcare setting there can be asignificant lack of control over the work pace with frequent interruptions (work is often dictated byexternal factors) that may lead to mental fatigue or stress.
