Eastern State Hospital located in Williamsburg Virginia was founded in 1773 with an emphasis on community focused mental health care. This stateoftheart campus situated on 500 acres consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of TRANSPORTATION OPERATOR (DSA III).

This position is responsible for the safe escort and transport of patients to/from on and off campus activities via handivans stretcher vans and general use vehicles; delivering direct patient care within the highest standards of personal and professional conduct to a mentally ill patient population; maintaining departmental reports; and inspecting and maintaining vehicle related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid drivers license with a decent driving record for the past three years in all states licensed.

Experience operating general use vehicles (including sedans passenger vans and trucks up to 13 tons GVWR).

Additional Considerations

QMHP Certification is preferred.

Experience working with individuals with psychiatric and developmental disabilities is preferred.
