We are seeking a detailoriented and proactiveExperienced Staff Accountantto join our dynamic accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager this role is critical in ensuring a timely and accurate monthend close process. You will be responsible for specialized accounting functions for over 400 limited partnerships invested in Section 42 LowIncome Housing properties through a multitier structure.
This position requires a solid understanding of GAAP strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to navigate complex financial scenarios. You will also contribute to process improvements and crossfunctional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Process daily disbursements and cash receipts maintain accurate records across systems (CLCS CashPro Excel).
Monitor loan and fee payments; report on delinquencies.
Collaborate with the resyndication team to manage the full loan funding cycle including documentation and disbursement schedules.
Track and reconcile loan draw submissions and funding receipts.
Prepare journal entries for loan activity ensuring proper coding and documentation.
Review vendor payments related to construction loan draws for accuracy and funding compliance.
Partner with Treasury to reconcile construction loan balances and resolve discrepancies.
Analyze monthly G&A expense variances against budget and collaborate with business units for reporting insights.
Calculate and reconcile surplus cash at properties coordinate collections with Property Management Companies.
Reconcile bank accounts and support the monthend close with journal entries and reports.
Maintain organized workbooks and schedules for internal and external audits.
Drive process improvements and assist in implementing new accounting procedures.
Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording.
Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated accounting issues.
Document and update standard operating procedures.
Assist with special projects across various departments.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or Business (CPA preferred)
Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
Public accounting experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP including consolidations and real estate accounting
Experience with LowIncome Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) is a plus
Power BI Power Query and Power Pivot experience is a plus
Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi or similar real estate software preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized detailoriented and selfmotivated
Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
Collaborative team player with project management skills
Base Compensation Range:
$42.73 To $49.00. This represents the presentlyanticipated low and high end of the Companys base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location and experience.Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
