You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Performing Arts Operations Manager is a handson leadership role responsible for overseeing facility operations at the Dothan Civic Center Dothan Opera House Porter Park Amphitheater and Roy Driggers Municipal Building. This position leads a team of fulltime and sporadic staff in maintaining cleanliness event support and daily operations.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
This position reports directly to the Civic Center/Opera House Director and operates with a high degree of independence. Work is assigned through general instructions with the expectation of sound decisionmaking related to facility operations staff supervision and event readiness. The Civic Center/Opera House Director or Event Manager may provide additional guidance as needed and performance is evaluated based on facility cleanliness event support execution team productivity and adherence to departmental policies.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include City of Dothan and departmental policies OSHA regulations local and state fire codes venue rental agreements technical riders and eventspecific requirements. These guidelines require independent judgment discretion and situational interpretation. The Performing Arts Operations Manager is expected to apply them appropriately while adapting to realtime operational needs and ensuring safety compliance and efficiency across all venues.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of diverse facility operations and maintenance responsibilities across four public venues each with unique scheduling demands technical requirements and tenant needs. Tasks include both handson work and administrative functions such as managing staff coordinating schedules and maintaining supply inventory. The variety and scale of eventsranging from small meetings to largescale productionsadd complexity and require adaptability. Successful performance in this role directly affects event execution guest experience promoter satisfaction and the reputation of the facilities and the department.

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct supervision over Arena Operations Worker I Arena Operations Worker II and Sporadic (parttime/oncall) custodial and operations staff. In the absence of the Civic Center/Opera House Director or Event Manager the Performing Arts Operations Manager will act as the onsite lead and point of contact.
*Accredited through an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education (CHEA).
