Job Description

Job Title: Coordinator of Curriculum for Math Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Chief Academic Officer Date Revised: 05/07/2025

Dept. /School: Academic Office

Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership and coordination to provide an aligned and articulated instructional program in the subject area assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors Degree

Masters degree from an accredited college or university in job jobrelated area

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject assigned

Texas MidMgmt. preferred

Certified TTESS evaluator or eligible for TTESS certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation

Ability to evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness

Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners

Ability to interpret data

Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

Five years of teaching experience in the subject area assigned

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional and Program Management

  1. Coordinate the review development and revision of all subject area programs and related curriculum documents and materials including curriculum guides course outlines and teaching plans.
  2. Work cooperatively with CAO and campus principals in developing and supervising the instructional programs in the assigned subject area.
  3. Plans improves and oversees CBA testing programs for the assigned subject area.
  4. Coordinate the ordering and use of departmental instructional aids and materials for the assigned subject area.
  5. Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for the assigned subject area.
  6. Maintain a staff library of publications supplementary materials and supplies relevant to the assigned subject area.
  7. Assist in the preparation of the budget and administration of the budget for supplies equipment and facilities in the area of assignment.

Staff Development

  1. Plan and provide staff development for teachers administrators and staff in the designated subject area.
  2. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in assigned area.
  3. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
  4. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in the classroom.

Other

  1. Assist in communicating information to parent and community members about school programs.
  2. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  3. Keep informed of and comply with state district and school regulations and policies.
  4. Compile maintain and file all physical and computerized reports records and other documents required.

None.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
