Job Description

Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to leverage behavior analysis and their experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities to assess design and implement behavior intervention plans and strategies that promote positive behavioral changes and enhance the quality of education for our students.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team whose purpose is to provide appropriate educational programs for special needs students.
  • Provides specialized support to teachers at all levels who need assistance in meeting the needs of students with learning disabilities and challenges.
  • Provides specialized consultative support to Student Assistance Teams (SAT) Child Study Teams (CST) and Individualized Educational Plan Teams (IEP) to meet student needs in their educational settings.
  • Assists in screening evaluating and recommending placements of students for the divisions special education program.
  • Keeps abreast of recent developments in education for special needs students and shows evidence of continuing professional growth.
  • Complies with all special education procedures from the division wide Special Education Handbook and the Virginia State Regulations Governing Students with Disabilities.
  • Develops and implements professional development programs as assigned.
  • Leadership and coordination of Learning Support and Multiple Disabilities programs across the division.
