We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher with expertise in Chemistry and Physics to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging instruction foster critical thinking and scientific inquiry and promote a love for science. This role involves developing and implementing curriculum aligned with state standards assessing student progress and contributing to a dynamic academic Functions: Develop lesson plans based on the Ohio learning standards for science Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear complete and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners Utilize demonstrations lectures discussions and student experiments to teach theories and skills in the science course Demonstrate scientific concepts by the use of scientific apparatus experiments computers and any other equipment necessary Instruct pupils in the proper use care and safe handling of chemicals and science equipment Provide for and ensure safe storage and proper use of materials equipment and tools Teach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practices Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment Prepare clear and timely lesson plans Maintain accurate and complete records as required Provide guidance to students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational developmentEnsure students are learning all subject material by testing quizzing and evaluating student projects on a regular basis Notify parents if student is not meeting classroom goals Select and request books instructional aids science equipment chemicals and supplies and maintain inventory records as required Prepare maintain and repair laboratory equipment Notify supervisor of possible safety hazards in chemical laboratory area Maintain respect at all times for confidential information e.g. student grades family historyRequirements: Valid Ohio Adolescence to Young Adult (712) License for Integrated Science Bachelors or advanced degreeAbility to work well with young people and provide a positive influence on their educational experienceAbility to work cooperatively with local district community parents and studentsA willingness to engage in voluntary professional development activitiesHigh personal and professional standardsCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Effective Date:School Year Length of Employment: One year limited contract Salary: Based on current negotiated salary schedule with appropriate experience and training Fringe Benefits: Based on current negotiated agreement PROCEDURE: If interested submit a letter of interest resume current teaching certificate/license and a list of references to Superintendent Maureen Taggart at For additional information contact Superintendent Taggart atx208 or.
