Job Description

Weekly outpatient therapy isnt always enough and a trip to the ER isnt the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis every day wehelp people overcome depression anxiety suicidality obsessions/compulsions trauma chronic pain and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

Our Family Therapists play a key role in our multidisciplinary teams and work to ensure synergy across treatment. As a Family Therapist youll conduct family sessions with patients and their loved ones that will aim at providing support offering education and promoting collaboration. If your passion is helping those who are working to support our patients you would be a great addition to our team.

Our centrally located Chicago office is nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of North Center not to mention the social events hosted on our fully furnished rooftop!

What Youll Do:

  • Facilitating family coaching sessions to a caseload of assigned patients and their caregivers.
  • Providing guidance and support to patients and family members to help promote goals and encourage patients progress through the program.
  • Utilize tenets of Parent Management Training to guide family members to more effectively respond and support patients. Discussion topics and family therapy goals include creating home contracts helping families implement them at home and offering psychoeducation.
  • Assisting in supporting families through phone coaching and followup calls.
  • Supporting patients in crisis.
  • Coordinating with the treatment team. This involves attending rounds and other program meetings regularly as well as using the electronic systems of communication.
  • Communicating with outside providers conducting family therapy for continuity of care.
  • Collaborating with the treatment team in assessing the patients progress and need for higher level of care stepdown or discharge.
  • Helping the family to coordinate an effective discharge plan.
  • Providing individual support to patients and helping in the milieu as needed.
  • Contributing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Charting progress of patients appropriately in the electronic medical record.
  • Participating in program meetings as needed.
  • Supporting the Young Child program by facilitating preintake calls and completing intakes as needed.
  • Working on projects focused on program improvement and the overall growth and development of Compass.

Who You Are:

  • Are a Psychologist or Masters level therapist (required)
  • Hold one of the following licenses: PhD PsyD LCSW or LCPC (preferred)
  • 1 years clinical work experience postMasters (strongly preferred)
  • Have knowledge and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as other evidencedbased therapies ideally in the context of delivering family therapy
  • Have experience with patients in crisis ideally prior experience working in partial hospitalization intensive outpatient inpatient hospital or residential setting

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including but not limited to your years of experience type of experience location and education/certifications.
