If you are a nurse (RN) looking for a position where you can utilize AND grow your critical care experience our PostAnesthesia Care Unit (PACU) may just be for the place for you to grow your a Registered Nurse in our PACU you will be key to patient experience postsurgery. From continuous assessment to ensuring patient safety comfort continuity of care and postsurgical education you will have the opportunity to serve a large patient population that is everchanging.

Clovis Community Medical Center opened at its current location as a 109bed hospital in 1988. Since then theres been nothing but growth. Today Clovis Community has 208 private patient rooms and another 144 under construction. Weve added a $68 million freestanding Cancer Institute and other specialty programs and now perform more than 13000 surgeries annually. Responsibilities

In your role you will:

  • Utilize the nursing process to identify patient needs for continuous assessment in the PACU.
  • Document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care.
  • Work alongside other departments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide postsurgical education to patients creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment for the patient and monitoring the patients physical and emotional wellbeing throughout the surgical care continuum
  • Monitoring patients for changes in status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

Education
Graduate of approved nursing program required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
minimum of 12 years of recent critical care ICU or PACU RN experience
Licenses and Certifications
RN Current State of California Registered Nurse license required
BLS Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
