NURSE EDUCATOR (RN)
Fulltime Days with flexibility required $85000 to $90000 annually based on experience and education with sign on bonus of $6000 paid in installments
About the Role:
As the Nurse Educator and Infection Preventionist you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering comprehensive education programs for our Health Services staff. Your responsibilities will encompass infection prevention and control and the utilization of technology to enhance learning experiences. Collaborating across departments you will ensure that our team remains competent compliant and committed to providing exceptional care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Educational Program Development: Design and implement inperson and online training programs using adult learning principles to meet clinical regulatory and safety requirements.
- Technology Integration: Utilize Learning Management Systems (e.g. Relias LMS) and other digital tools to create assign and track educational content and outcomes.
- Infection Prevention & Control: Lead the infection prevention program conducting surveillance tracking infections reporting communicable diseases and ensuring compliance with CDC CMS and NYS DOH standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain auditready records and support preparation for CMS NYS DOH OSHA and CARF surveys.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Nursing Health Center leadership Human Resources and other departments to coordinate training and implement infection control strategies.
- Committee Participation: Chair the Safe Patient Handling Committee and contribute to QAPI Safety and other assigned committees.
- Staff Development: Encourage lifelong learning coach staff and promote participation in clinical education programs aligned with Kendals values.
Qualifications
- Current New York State licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (required).
- Infection Control Training Certification (e.g. CDC APIC or equivalent) required or obtained within 6 months.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a longterm care or healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in staff development infection prevention or nursing education preferred.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems and digital education tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating patience creativity and flexibility.
