Pay Range $21.30 to $25.10 per hour
**This is a Temporary FullTime position through 1/1/26 (could possibly extended through 4/1/26).
Purpose of Position:
Interpret pay rules regulatory compliance and union contracts; process audit weekly/biweekly payrolls to include paper timecards and Kronos Time and Attendance System; direct deposit (ACH) setups changes cancels; set jobs for nightly processing; manual check calculation and review; timecard label and paycheck distribution; SDI coordination calculations; void checks; stop payments mandatory and voluntary deduction maintenance vendor payments; worksite reporting; daily positive pay; metrics; Attachment and Garnishments; writing/updating procedures; W2 reissue request; restaurant tip tracking; mail; filing.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process Payroll paper timecards and Kronos to include interpretation and application of pay rules union contracts federal and state regulatory requirements batch controls recaps data entry and auditing.
- Will be involved with balancing time accrual entry and releasing time records for processing.
- Assist in Manual check calculation and processing and attachment garnishment maintenance to include interpretation of court orders and application of the type of order (IRS Sheriffs Bankruptcy support etc.)
- Assist in setup deductions amendments stops changes uploads producing AP checks online filing and payments check distribution and reconciliations and set weekly job sheets.
- Will be involved with ACH maintenance (new setup changes reversals returns) union maintenance (new setup arrears vendor payments) SDI (CA state disability Insurance calculations).
- Will work on daily positive pay metrics Department policy/procedure updates W2 reissues.
- Will work on temp pool tracking miscellaneous payments time and attendance entry maintain payroll Outlook mailbox CA makeup time request error processing corrections Kronos Weekly Audits and labor timecard & label distribution.
Additional Functions:
- Back up other desks as needed.
Qualifications :
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior payroll knowledge strongly preferred (Knowledge of taxable wage limits pay rules overtime etc.).
- High degree of confidentiality organization and prioritization skills; detailoriented; critical thinker.
- Good analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.
- Strong PC skills Windows Excel Word; Lawson Infor10 payroll software helpful Kronos or payroll timekeeping system helpful.
- 10key by touch.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with time sensitive deadlines.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well with others to collaborate and be a good team player to communicate effectively to other departments and at all levels of the organizations.
- Ability to work independently
