Sole Hire is seeking a qualified and experienced Adjunct Welding Instructor to teach in the Welding Technology Program at a respected institution in Rockford IL. The instructor will lead both classroom and handson instruction helping students build the technical skills needed for successful careers in welding and metal fabrication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach welding techniques including SMAW GMAW FCAW and GTAW.
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures lab demonstrations and training exercises.
- Prepare lesson plans and maintain uptodate course materials.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean organized shop/lab space.
- Track and report student attendance progress and performance.
- Guide students in preparation for industry certifications (e.g. AWS).
- Collaborate in curriculum development and attend departmental meetings.
- Perform other instructional or administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associate s degree or journeylevel status in Welding or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of recent industry experience in welding or metal fabrication.
- Prior teaching training or mentorship experience preferred.
- AWS Certification (or willingness to obtain within one year of hire) strongly preferred.
- Strong communication organizational and classroom management skills.
- Passion for handson instruction and supporting student success.
General Faculty Responsibilities: Ensure students follow catalog guidelines daily. Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings. Serve on committees as assigned based on expertise or campus needs. Perform online instruction duties as required, ensuring timely grading and student engagement.
