Job Description
Position Summary
Sole Hire is seeking an Adjunct HVAC/R Instructor to provide lecture lab and/or clinical instruction in accordance with AHED policies curriculum requirements and quality standards. This role reports to the Program Chair Academic Dean Director of Academic Operations (Online) and/or Campus President as applicable.
This is an oncampus position only; remote or online teaching is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Deliver engaging lecture lab and clinical instruction aligned with program objectives.
- Follow established course outlines learning outcomes and evaluation mechanisms.
- Prepare and maintain detailed lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Ensure all students receive graded assignments and final grades in a timely manner (within 48 hours of due date).
Student Support
- Monitor and record student attendance and retention.
- Offer academic support during scheduled office hours or by appointment.
- Advise students on academic progress school policies and expectations.
- Identify and assist atrisk students referring them for additional support as needed.
Operational Duties
- Attend mandatory meetings and participate in faculty development.
- Maintain and monitor classroom equipment supplies and inventory.
- Submit supply textbook and equipment needs in writing to the Program Chair.
- Adhere to the institution s policies deadlines and professional standards.
Professional Development
- Maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing training seminars reading and AHED s required online modules.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and school guidelines.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate from an accredited HVAC/R program.
- Minimum of 3 years of handson industry experience in HVAC/R.
- Strong communication instructional and organizational skills.
- Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
General Faculty Responsibilities: Ensure students follow catalog guidelines daily. Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings. Serve on committees as assigned based on expertise or campus needs. Perform online instruction duties as required, ensuring timely grading and student engagement.
