Greenbush The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for a Language Interpreter (PRN) at the Leavenworth County Infant Toddler Services location in Lansing Kansas.
Anticipated Start Date: 06/09/2025.

Job Summary:This job requires frequent contact with children and families with Spanish as their first language. Interpretation and translation support are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
A valid drivers license is required for employment. REAL ID is required if air travel is necessary to complete job duties.
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish both orally and in writing.
Able to follow instructions during meetings instructional time and in other settings.
Proficient in email and word processing and able to learn new computer systems as required.
Maintain current immunizations as required by the Service Center or the work placement setting
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in education foreign language communication or another related field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
Ability to facilitate effective communication by accurately conveying the message from the source language to the targetlanguage without additions omissions or other factors that alter the intended meaning of the message.
Proficient at simultaneous interpretation consecutive interpretation and sight translation.
Able to convert written documents from one language to another while preserving the original meaning format and tone.
Work collaboratively with other team members to establish and maintain records and files that are accurate andHIPAA/FERPA compliant.
Work cooperatively and constructively with other team members children families and internal/external stakeholders.
Adequately perform duties other duties as required which may include the use of multifunction printers and computer programs such as email Microsoft Office and programspecific databases.
General Responsibilities:

Maintain strict confidentiality as outlined by FERPA and HIPAA.
Ability to work alone and in groups to provide services.

Demonstrate proficiency in the ability to effectively and regularly communicate with other employees of the SEKESC and constituents.
Complete all assignments in a timely manner including communication with other staff and families.
Follow all safety requirements as directed by the SEKESC.
Regular and predictive attendance in designated work location as determined by the Executive Director or designee.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit/stand for long periods.
Work in loud/stressful environments.
Ability to drive in varying weather and geographical conditions.
Being exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
Being exposed to hazardous materials.
Being exposed to work settings that offer a risk to personal security and that are not ADA compliant.
