Job Description
TITLE OF POSITION:
Grade Level Guidance Counselor Grade 6
(The individual will remain with the assigned grade level as they
are promoted through middle school)
LOCATION:
Nauset Regional Middle School
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION:
The individual will provide direct assessment and assistance to students parents and staff in adolescent issues; provide prevention and intervention services as a member of a crisis team; act as a resource to various parties and assist the school and staff in dealing with crises. The individual will participate as needed in Child Study Teams 504 and IEP Teams assist with the orientation of new students and with the student transition process between grade levels. Other responsibilities include supervision at lunch and as needed at assemblies and/or school events; assist with administration of MCAS or other testing; work with teachers in planning annual overnight outofstate field trips (i.e. DC NY Canada). Other duties may be assigned by the Principal. The individual will remain with the assigned grade level as they are promoted through middle school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in social work; social worker license.
Excellent communication collaborative skills and experience with middleschool aged children and programs preferred.
