The Vertex Coop Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a handson perspective. Job Summary:
Vertex is a global biotechnology company that aims to discover develop and commercialize innovative medicines so people with serious diseases can lead better lives. In addition to our clinical development programs focused on cystic fibrosis Vertex has more than a dozen ongoing research programs aimed at other serious and lifethreatening diseases. The Manufacturing Science and Technology group is focused on technical and analytical support to commercial/commercializing products and are specifically looking for a coop to join a focused group working on Cell and Gene Therapy products.
Key Responsibilities:
Coop would work within a crossfunctional team (MSAT Manufacturing Research and Process Development) on process improvement projects for a Stem Cell Therapy program. Potential projects are:
design and execute studies to understand environmental and mechanical stress on the cell product from manufacturing process and equipment
develop models and simulations to evaluate shear stress flow rate pressure to enable robust equipment and process design
and develop appropriate historical database and perform statistical data analysis.

Pay Range 20.00 35.00 USD/hour
