The Head of Mens Soccer Coach/Assistant Compliance Officer Assists in overseeing all aspects of operating a successful college level intercollegiate athletic program. This role will report to the Director of Athletics.
Essential duties:
- Assist recruiting studentathletes who are mission fit academically solid and athletically skilled.
- Adhere to support and follow the academic standards and requirements of the university regarding the recruiting and eligibility of prospective and current studentathletes.
- Assist mens soccer studentathletes in obtaining spiritual growth and track academic progress. Provide appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each studentathletes spiritual development and program of study.
- Report any known or suspected violations of the NCAA and/or university rules by head coach assistant coach(es) studentathletes staff etc. promptly to the Director of Athletics.
- Organize and supervise all practices games and other workout sessions for the mens soccer team. Lead effectively in the instruction and coaching of studentathletes.
- Assist the Compliance Officer to ensure that all studentathletes (including transfers) are eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics programs by working with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
- Ensure the Universitys athletics programs are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations governing recruiting amateurism awards and benefits playing and practice sessions sports camps and clinics.
- Work alongside the Compliance Officer with program reporting requirements for filing NCAA certifications forms squad list forms drug consent forms studentathlete statements and other related forms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or Masters degree preferred in Sports administration or related field or significant higher education experience
- Two or three yeas of successful high school college or privatemens soccer coaching experience is required; three to five years of successful collegelevel experience or equivalent preferred
- Proven ability to communicate effectively oneonone in small groups and in public speaking contexts
- Proven ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results
- Demonstrated strategic planning skills and an ability to assess the teams competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
- Demonstrated skill in making strategic recommendations to enhance the teams performance
- Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule
- Personal Characteristics: Strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Commitment to integrating Scripture in coaching and interactions with studentathletes. Demonstration of humility integrity maturity organizational skills creativity flexibility and patience
