Staff Product Designer

Were looking for an experienced Staff Product Designer to lead the design of innovative products at the forefront of securing AI systems in the enterprise. Reporting into the Head of Product youll work at the intersection of complex security challenges intuitive user experiences and cutting edge AI technology.

Youll work closely with product managers engineers and cross-functional teams to create user-centered designs that address our customers unique challenges. This is an ideal role for a designer who thrives in complex problem spaces loves creating intuitive solutions for technical users and wants to shape how security teams interact with cutting-edge AI protection tools. As the first full-time product designer youll set the foundation for product design at Lakera.

What Youll Do & Your Impact:

Lead design for innovative end-to-end features that streamline workflows for enterprise security teams securing AI systems
Partner with product managers engineers and security experts to translate complex user needs into intuitive user-centered experiences
Craft high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that facilitate stakeholder feedback and ensure smooth handoffs to engineering
Evolve our design system and component library to maintain consistency and delight across all features and platforms
Conduct user research through interviews and usability testing to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement
Promote design leadership through championing design thinking throughout Lakera
Stay current with emerging trends in AI security technology and apply UX best practices to our unique context

Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified:

4-6 years of experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered interfaces for complex applications
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively translate between user needs and technical requirements with internal and external stakeholders
Self-starter mentality with proven success thriving in fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities
Strategic mindset that connects design decisions to user insights business objectives and security requirements
Experience collaborating cross-functionally and adapting designs for different stakeholders and technical contexts
Expert proficiency in modern design tools (Figma etc.) and prototyping techniques
Passion for AI security and improving how security teams protect critical systems
Experience in Security or SaaS environments is a plus
Experience leveraging AI in your work a plus

Logistics

Location: San Francisco / Remote East Coast

Logistics: Hybrid with 2 days per week in the office in downtown San Francisco or Remote East Coast

At Lakera we are dedicated to offering a highly competitive total rewards package including cash compensation equity and comprehensive benefits. The final compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors including the scope and complexity of the position as well as the candidates experience and qualifications. For roles based in San Francisco the estimated annual base salary range is $170000$193000 USD.
