Position Summary...
What youll do...
You will be able to design and deliver readable maintainable testable scalable reusable and efficient code. Youll have an opportunity to work in an Agile team with Engineers Designers and Product Managers to solve most exciting and challenging problems. Collaborate with Backend teams to design ; develop mobile apps. Follow established architecture patterns and suggest improvements. Youll have opportunity to manage the complex challenges of micro service and scale which are unique to Walmarts ecommerce stores and omnichannel platform while using your expertise in coding algorithms complex triaging and analysis and largescale system design.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members stores and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value whether they shop online at through one of our mobile apps or instore. Focus areas include customers stores and employees instore service merchant tools merchant data science and search and personalization.
What youll do:
- You architect and lead the implementation to support new functionalities and user experiences.
- You work with your manager product operations and design to plan execute and deliver on sprint quarterly and project goals.
- You serve as a Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates other teams and engineers.
- Demonstrate uptodate expertise in Software Engineering and apply this to the development of action plans. Analyze business problems to design solutions and/or implements and test complex code changes for specific requirements or application. Deliver high quality code for the product requirements in an agile scrum sprint.
- Investigate and fix software defects.
- Assure app stability and code coverage by writing Unit and Functional tests.
- Collaborate with platform team members across web iOS and Android to align on solutions across platforms.
- Utilize industry opensource research tools and practices to improve Walmart technology environment.
- Design complex systems which are scalable and fault tolerant. You will reason about tradeoffs (timeliness/accuracy/resource usage) of multiple algorithmic solutions and to highlight the difference in product outcomes.
- Implement application which meet throughput and SLAs requirements. Implement unit test cases perform code reviews and write feature documentation. Perform build deployment and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA ; Production environments.
- Performcode reviews of proposed source changes
What youll bring:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related subject
- 8 years of professional experience in various elements of software development native mobile Android and handson coding experience in the past
- Experience with a consumer facing app and ecommerce or retail shopping
- Good hands on Gradle tooling static and dynamic code analysis mobile app performance analytics frameworks.
- Previous knowledge of
- Designing and developing advanced applications for the Android platform
- Unittesting code for robustness including edge cases usability and general reliability
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Experience translating wireframes into pixelperfect views
- Knowledgeable about animation and screen transitions
- Experience with Android SDK Services and various methods of background processing
- Experience working with remote data via REST JSON Google Cloud Messaging and the HTTP protocol
- Experience with Google Play APIs: Maps Location and Cloud Messaging
- Experience with thirdparty libraries and APIs
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle and writing readable maintainable performant objectoriented code
- Experience working with Kotlin Coroutines MVVM MVVM Clean View Models Repository Design pattern and other architectures
- Experience with React Native a plus
- Being a team player critical thinker and exhibiting problemsolving skills
- Selfmotivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
