TECH is committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Reno County Kansas through advocacy education and quality support. The TECH Art Gallery serves as a hub for selling artwork created by TECH participants while the TECH Art Studio provides a space for artistic expression and skill development.
Opportunities for Artists
TECH invites artists to collaborate in enriching our programs through various opportunities including:
- PopUp Art Classes: Lead workshops to introduce new techniques and inspire creativity.
- Art Teachers: Engage with TECH participants over an extended period allowing for deeper artistic exploration and meaningful mentorship. (Part time full time and contract options)
Artist Responsibilities and Expectations
Visiting artists are encouraged to:
- Design Inclusive Workshops: Develop programs accessible to individuals of all abilities.
- Encourage Creative Exploration: Foster an environment where participants feel confident in experimenting with new techniques.
- Promote Skill Development: Equip participants with artistic tools that enhance selfexpression and independence.

- Exhibition Opportunities: Display works in the TECH Art Gallery to inspire and connect with the broader community.
- CommunityIntegrated Classes: Develop workshops that bring together community members and TECH consumers fostering inclusive artistic experiences and strengthening social connections.
Community Engagement and Impact
Artists may further contribute by:
- Hosting Public Session: Share their creative process through live artmaking sessions with both TECH consumers and community members.
- Mentoring Emerging Artists: Guide TECH participants in developing their artistic skills and confidence.
- Participating in Collaborative Projects: Cocreate works in the TECH Art Studio that celebrate the creativity of the TECH community.
- Supporting Sustainable Income Opportunities: Assist TECH consumers in creating designs that can later be reproduced for home dcor apparel and other items. While artists will focus on the design process they will work closely with the Art Gallery Coordinator and the Director of Marketing and Development to ensure these designs align with TECHs broader creative and sales initiatives. This collaboration helps TECH participants develop ongoing income streams and gain broader market exposure.
