The Seminole County Sheriffs Office is now accepting applications for the position ofASSISTANT SUPERVISOR ASSIGNED TO INTAKE & RELEASE.
Under the supervision of the Intake Release Supervisor performs responsible and complex work of a highly specialized nature ensuring appropriate booking and authorizing the release of inmates verifying the accurate transcription of court work performing administrative tasks and supervisory activities and reviewing the work of subordinates.

REFERENCE ASSISTANT SUPERVISORVIAJOB DESCRIPTIONS
Conduct searches and locate information through the Seminole County Clerk of Court Florida Department of Corrections Department of Highway and Safety and Motor Vehicles and State Attorneys Offices databases; to query and review criminal histories via EAgent
Perform all the duties of subordinate personnel
Reviews work for quality assurance purposes
Provides technical assistance to staff in the performance of their duties
Ensures subordinate awareness of standard operating policies and procedures
Assists in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures for the efficient and effective operations of the Intake Release Section
Corrects errors and assists with problems related to booking release and inmate information ensuring accurate information is in inmate files
Completes the final review of all files prior to release
Coordinates with other agencies to schedule transportation of inmates
Evaluates members assigned to the shift and prepares appropriate performance appraisals
Responds to inquiries from other agencies
Determine priorities schedule and assign work as required; Implement management decisions through the work of subordinate employees; Solve problems within the team related to work assignments
Provide handson advice and assistance on work processes best practices and subject matter expertise to subordinates; Assist in the review and development of routine procedures to ensure timely and accurate accomplishment of established operational goals
Supervise and train assigned staff evaluate performance and initiate corrective action as needed; assess staffing needs and assist in the recruitment of staff
Maintain required documentation and complete reports
Attend meetings as required
Conducts briefings with staff to include the dissemination of information from memos meetings and orders pertaining to the sections operation and training
Answers telephone calls from the public and provides routine information
Participate in performing the actual work of the unit and substitute for subordinates as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position Assignment is generally in an office atmosphere that has limited direct inmate contact and works within the confines of a corrections facility. The position is generally assigned to a day or night shift with rotating days off including working weekends nights holidays and/or overtime; May be required to respond for any critical incident manmade or natural.
Regular and prompt attendance is mandatory in the performance of an employees duties for this position to include scheduled work hours and required training activities calls for mandatory overtime needs and calls for service during times of an emergency.
Considerable knowledge of the functions services procedures and regulations of the unit or department to which assigned.
Skill in the application of supervisory techniques; Ability to proof own work and the work of others.
Ability to interpret and explain laws statutes regulations and other directives if applicable to job assignment.
Ability to prioritize work of the team; to prepare and maintain records and reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment for this position is normally in an office atmosphere. The incumbent performs most illustrative duties in a sedentary position. Work is generally performed during normal business hours although the incumbent may be required to work any schedule that fulfills the needs of the position.

External applicants for employment will submit to a thorough background investigation which includes but not limited to past employment/education verification driver license review credit history prior drug use history arrest/conviction record and computerized voice stress analysis (CVSA) testing. A certified examiner administers the CVSA with questions addressing illegal drug use and general questions of honesty and criminal history. Any dishonesty or deception on the Employment Application will disqualify your application.
The background investigation process may take 36 months depending upon the complexity of the applicants background and position for which youve applied. Applicants selected for employment will be provided a conditional offer and required to submit to a medical examination with drug screening.
Candidates must also comply with the Agencys current Tattoo and Body Ornamentation Policy. A copy ofGeneral Order 28 Dress and Appearance can be accessed here. An applicants tattoos and body ornamentation must be disclosed at the time of application and will be documented as part of the agencys review process even if otherwise meeting the Agencys policy.
Applicants not selected for employment will receive notification from the Human Resources Division to include justification based on the following disqualifiers: negative background failure to meet minimum qualifications as outlined in the specific job description or any additional information discovered during the interview process.
