QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade GED or a minimum of five years of demonstrated successful experience in the custodial field.
- Custodians in this position directly supervise and participate in the training and all phases of cleaning of the school. In some cases this position does all the custodial duties with no assistance from other custodial workers.
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment. Ability to lay out work and to estimate time tools and materials needed; experience in building maintenance; perform heavy physical labor; basic techniques of electrical repair maintenance carpentry and sometimes grounds maintenance; maintain simple records.
- Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students fellow employees and the general public.

- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish is preferred.
RESPONSIBILTIES/DUTIES:
- Oversee all Custodial work at Grants Pass High School.
- Manage Custodial Budget for Grants Pass High School.
- Communication with vendors.
- Inventory of maintaining and ordering of all supplies needed for custodial staff.
- Consult and first response on calls with alarm company fire department and other organizations.
- Administration will approve/deny all time off requests of custodians at the high school with Head Custodian IV initialing for their awareness and coordination of schedule
- Coordinate work schedules for weekend large events and any extra duty custodial assignments.
- Head Custodian IV in collaboration with Head Custodian III will assign custodial runs and schedules for swing shift.
- Meet regularly with High School administration to review schedules design and assign custodial runs.
- Performs any and all duties of the Custodian I II and III when necessary.
- Sees that building and premises including sidewalks driveways and play areas are neat and clean and free of offensive writing at all times.
- Check daily to see that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy.
- Raise and lower the flag(s).
- Maintain a regular schedule of all motors and other mechanical equipment requiring scheduled servicing.
- Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance upkeep and repair.
- Keep an inventory of supplies equipment and fuel on hand and requisition same.
- Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of all trash rubbish waste and chemicals.
- Conduct periodic inspections and tests of all electrical installations in the school to ensure their safe condition.
- Confer with Administration overseeing supervision and Maintenance Supervisor regarding care and cleaning programs and schedules and prepares work schedules for same.
- Inservicing of colleagues as directed by Administration or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Performs safety inspections.
- May perform routine grounds keeping duties.
- Painting and related jobs are required of the position.
- Assists with coordinator of extracurricular activities with Activities Director Athletic Director and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Supervise a ground keeping crew on campus in the absence of Maintenance Supervisor.
- Review HVAC program each morning and adjust throughout the day as needed.
OTHER DUTIES
- The Head Custodian IV must maintain and protect the confidentiality of students and families in accordance with FERPA and protect the rights of students to due process dignity privacy and respect.

- Upon selection employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $70 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $22.55$32.57 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees

- Up to 20 vacation days per year calculated by years of service with the District
- Bereavement leave as per bargaining agreement

- $4251 per year insurance optout stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6hour employees) $3825.90 (46hour employees)
- 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($800$1400)
