Job Description

Job Title: University Photographer

Time Type: Parttime 20 hours a week

Job Summary The campus photographer will ensure that the University has a large highquality photo library that reflects Calvins brand and visual identity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):

Shoots high quality digital images as requested to meet the Universitys needs for marketing web and news coverage. Annually updates University stock photography files of campus locations seasonal scenes buildings faculty staff and students. Comanages the university digital asset library of photography and is responsible for archiving organizing maintaining and tagging imagery. Comanages plans and coordinates with campus units for photography requests Works in alignment with the University brand and visual identity guidelines for photo style. Supports other offices such as with quarterly priority setting and assignments. Serves on the Creative Services team and supports social media photo needs. Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

  • Mastery of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom or other editing software
  • Ability to operate and maintain digital SLR cameras lighting equipment and associated accessories
  • Experience with landscape sports portrait and marketing photography
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent file management and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with many campus staff and faculty.
  • Time management skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to supervise and train student employees including organizing prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree from a fouryear college or university two to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • familiarity with various digital and social media platforms data analysis and interpretation and accessibility guidelines.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work in this position is performed within routine office conditions usually without exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy. Using a keyboard to enter retrieve or transform data. Closely observe monitoring devices for 2 hours or more at a time. Lifting 1015 lbs or less.
