Summary of Duties
As a Resource Home Certifier you will:
Recruit and engage resource parents adoptive parents and caregivers from diverse backgrounds.
Develop and implement local recruitment & retention plans.
Attend local outreach community activities to identify potential resource parents.
Find placement for children coming into care or requiring respite.
Review and prepare family home studies for general and or relative placement adoption and permanency committees ensuring families are placement ready.
Provide ongoing support and training to Resource and adoptive families including facilitating mentorship and managing Placement Support Plans.
Assess and monitor the safety and suitability of resource families preadoptive families and adoptive families managing documentation.
Coordinate and deliver training opportunities which may include public speaking and group presentations.
Attend meetings conferences and court hearings to represent Child Welfare and maintain communication with stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree in human services or a field related to human service. Or
A bachelors degree unrelated to Human Services and either:
One year of Human Services related experience. Or
Completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency. Or
An associate degree and either:
Two years of Human Services related experience. Or
One year of Human Services related experience and related training coursework or certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency.
Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
Knowledge of child development crisis intervention conflict resolution and behavior management.
Awareness of how stress and trauma impact behavior differently in adults and children.
Experience breaking down complex rules and information into clear understandable explanations for diverse audiences.
Experience engaging with diverse audiences in highpressure situations adjusting communication strategies to ensure cultural sensitivity and responsiveness.
Experience navigating technology and various computer systems.
Experience creating written reports or documents suitable for legal and regulatory use.
Working Conditions
Work will be conducted in offices participants homes and other community sites.
Frequent travel is required for meetings trainings and other case related activities. Travel may be in hazardous weather conditions.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Employees work schedule will be Monday Friday from 8 am 5 pm PT; hours may fluctuate based on service needs.
Occasional compensated overtime may be required including evening and weekend work.
Employee may be required to participate in a rotating oncall schedule including evening or weekend work.
May work with individuals experiencing trauma or crisis. Some individuals may have challenges managing their emotions.
May encounter situations requiring quick decisionmaking to ensure the safety of oneself or others.
Activities include traversing stairs moving on uneven terrain and helping children (weighing up to 50 pounds) in and out of car seats.

Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprintbased criminal records check.
A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
