Requirements for Role
  • LVTWashington state preferred but not required and previous leadership experiencespecialty department experience preferred
Lead Responsibilities
  • Ensure appropriate standards of patient care and client service are maintained
  • Prepare and manage the schedules for the veterinary medical support team
  • Ensure training and onboarding of veterinary medical support team
  • Oversee KPIs and performance evaluation for veterinary medical support team
  • Ensure efficient and effective workflow coordinate with other hospital departments
  • Develop goals objectives and deadlines for the team and practice and clearly communicate to the team and ensure others know their role in achieving them
  • Work with leadership team to achieve budget targets and goals
  • Mentor and engage veterinary medical team to ensure productivity and high morale foster professional development and personal growth
  • Represent the veterinary medical support team on the leadership team
  • Lead in a manner that promotes strong employee satisfaction and retention
  • Resolve routine personnel issues and problems and provide guidance in resolving interpersonal conflict
  • Assists Hospital Staff Manager in creating corrective documents and follow up
  • Model and mentor professionalism and accountability
  • Foster a positive collaborative working environment and build team rapport
  • Handle client complaints
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue client retention/satisfaction
  • Oversee Department cleanliness and organization; equipment maintenance/repair; medical inventory management
  • Identify medical or employment issues to leadership as needed
Technical Role Responsibilities Skills and Knowledge
    • Support veterinarians and team to ensure quality veterinary care advocate for pets and educate clients.
    • Assistinmaintainingrelevantaccurate and comprehensive medicalrecordsincluding relevant history taking.
    • Assistingdoctors with neurological examinationswhiledemonstratingproper handling and restraint of patients with neurological disorders.
    • Understanding the basic principles of seizure controlfamiliarity with the different medications used to treat epilepsyand be able to recognize/address seizure activity.
    • Able to recognize changes in mentation and alert the DVM.
    • Produce diagnosticthoracic and spinal radiographs.
    • Aseptic preparationof surgical site and sterile opening of surgical instruments.
    • Sterile preparation of cerebral spinal fluid tap site and aseptic technique for CSF samplecollection.
    • Calculating and administering analgesic CRIunder the direction of DVM.
    • Anesthetic induction and monitoring forMRIs and surgical procedureswith or without use of a mechanical ventilator.
    • Catheter placement and maintenance: peripheral centralarterialand urinary.
    • Ability to perform CPR according to RECOVER Initiative standards.
    • Use safe restraining techniques follow standard protocols and sustain clean and organized treatment areas exam rooms and labs.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and support fellow team members.
