The Virginia Department of Transportation is excited to announce an opportunity to serve as an Audit Manager in the Assurance and Compliance Office (ACO). This position reports out of our Central Office in Richmond VA.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Audit Coordination Plan supervise and control audit activities of scheduled audits and special projects.
Review Audit Work Papers and Reports Examine audit work papers and review reports. Verify integrity of any audit findings and related conclusions. Analyze reports from any number of entities doing work with VDOT.
Negotiate Audit Report Findings Negotiate and resolve audit findings with contractors project managers agency leaders and others to acceptable resolutions.
Performs Complex Audits Performs audits special projects and hotline investigations of unusual difficulty or an extremely sensitive nature.
Audit Communications Serve as pointofcontact for VDOT management for audit project issues recommendation implementation issues and general internal control issues.

VDOT is an emergency operation agency. Positions physically working within Central Office locations may be designated upon request and coordination among the respective District Engineer or Administrator and Chief. Assignments are updated annually. Not all designated employees are provided an emergency operations assignment.
Once onboarded this position may be eligible for limited telework opportunities; availability hours and duration of telework shall be approved as outlined in the Commonwealth telework policy. However at a minimum the successful candidate would still be expected to physically report to the VDOT Central Office in Richmond Virginia several days each work week.
VDOT utilizes a marketbased pay program which has been approved by DHRM. Therefore advertised rates of pay may or may not align with the Commonwealth pay bands.
Additional positions may be filled from this recruitment within 90 days.
