Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesContributes to and maintains the ongoing communication network between students parents teachers and administrators as well as working with social agencies etc. Monitor social/emotional/behavioral student progress via individual meetingsHelps students apply academic achievement strategies and counsels students in regard to course selection and high school prevention intervention and referrals for students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges advocating for individual student needs as necessaryMaintains accurate and appropriate documentation and student recordsCollect analyze and use data to evaluate develop and implement an effective school counseling programWork cooperatively with students teachers and other appropriate staff to ensure trainings on specific topics such as bullying substance use prevention and mental health intervention are provided to teachers and students Work cooperatively with the Director of Academic Support to advocate for students with individualized academic and/or socialemotional needs; Assist with implementing Individualized Student Success Plans (ISSP)Participates on transition team for students transferring into the school as reentry from hospitalization to facilitate a positive adjustment and provides transitional counseling as neededProvide crisis response and risk assessment with students in acute crisis as determined by school leadershipInterpret educational assessments and medical evaluations in conjunction with the Director of Academic Support and School NurseParticipate and assist with the transition of students from grade to gradeConduct consult and collaborate for school activities that promote healthy prosocial skills and positive school cultureAssist in Guidance components such as recordkeeping seminar courses and testingAdvise extracurricular activities as requiredParticipate in some infrequent evening or weekend activities including meetings professional development or other school activitiesOther duties as assigned
