The Shidler College of Business School of Accountancy at the University of Hawaii at Manoainvites applicants for a fulltime temporary nontenure track faculty position. Subject to position clearance satisfactory performance and availability of funds this position is anticipated to start Fall 2025 semester commencingAugust 1 2025. More information about the School is available at include teaching 12credits per semester undergraduate level courses in financial managerial tax and Auditing and other areas as needed including those delivered through distance education serving School needs; participating in curriculum development and in the governance of SOA (for example serve on committees provide service etc.); providing service to the School College and University and other duties as assigned by the School Director.
Interest in advancing instructional pedagogy in the accounting field in both online and inperson formats.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach 12credit undergraduate and graduate level courses in financial managerial tax and Auditingand other areas as needed including those delivered through distance education.
- Work with students in fieldbased settings and/or case competitions.
- Participate in accreditation and program assessment activities as needed.
- Participate in collaborative relationships with partnership schools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis on accounting or a related fieldas evidenced by transcripts.
- Accounting professional certificates such as CPA and prior accounting or financerelated work experience
- Evidence of Universitylevel teaching ability as indicated by student evaluations for Universitylevel courses taught within the last five years.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to direct graduate teachingassistants.
- Commitment to undergraduate education.
- Experience teaching various student populations.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience and expertise in teaching accounting courses at the graduatelevel.
- Experience in teaching through distance learning/online courses.
- Evidence of past and current research activities that provides insights and applications that enhance student learning in a classroom setting.
