Job Description

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Location: DePere WI

Direct Reports: Quality Control Supervisors/Technicians

Schedule: Monday Friday 7:00am4:00pm (Day Shift)

Status: Full time exempt

Travel: 30% to Value Added Companies in various States

Job Overview: A Quality Control Manager ensures products or services consistently meet predefined quality standards to meet ISO 9001:2015. Develop and implement quality control procedures inspect products identify areas for improvement and conduct quarterly audits. Train staff coach and develop the quality team analyze data operate and maintain controlled equipment and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures. This includes creating quality control plans establishing standards work instructions forms and defining inspection methods. This effort leads to regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the inspection and testing of products or services by evaluating products at various stages or production to ensure they meet quality requirements based on our service agreements. Propose corrective actions to improve compliance with outcomes from quality inspections.
  • Recommend new or improved quality control methods procedures and/or standards.
  • Analyze and track data for report generation identifying trends root causes of quality concerns preventive measures and areas for improvement. Ensure direct leader is Quality Control Manager 5.14.25 Value Added Distributorsinformed of trends concerns and recommendations for improvements on a timely basis.
  • Hire train and lead quality control team by ensuring everyone understands and follows quality procedures. Supervise mock and inspector audits with the team. Hold self and the team accountable to meet milestones/goals and adhere to approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with production engineering leadership and purchasing to address quality issues. Handle nonconformity and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure compliance by staying up to date with industry regulations customer requirements and certifications.
  • Identify areas for improvement by continuously looking for ways to optimize quality control processes. Manage ISO 9001:2015 requirements and updating forms in SharePoint.
  • Coordinate and execute PPAPs PFMEAs and compliance reporting as required. Lead management review meetings for each Value Added Company as required by procedures. Lead each new facility opening as if it will be ISO certified.
  • Work with vendors and customers as appropriate.
  • The description of responsibilities is not exhaustive. There will be additional duties assigned per company customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Leadership capabilities Ability to lead a dispersed team; teach coach and hold self and others accountable for completing responsibilities.
  • Knowledgeable and upholds required safety practices procedures and policies.
  • Performs valueadded research to realize opportunities for improvement early and prior to an inspection audit or customer concern where updated practices can be established.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in related fields (e.g. quality engineering quality assurance business computer science industrial engineering manufacturing supervision manufacturing engineering manufacturing laboratory analysis) is preferred but 7 plus years of applicable experience could be substituted for formal education.
  • Leading Quality Control in Manufacturing environments with ISO 9001:2015 is required.
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience is preferred. Three plus years of supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 suite. Able to communicate collaborate and present on Microsoft Teams as needed.
  • Extensive knowledge of the function and quality control processes associated with manufacturing aerospace department of defense construction agriculture energy & utilities transportation and chemicals.

Work Environment:

  • At any one of the Value Added Companies the environment can be associated with manufacturing office retail and laboratory.
  • The manufacturing environment and laboratory requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as defined by each facility. PPE could include eye protection face shield gloves masks and closed toed shoes. The manufacturing environment is not climate controlled and may become warm in the summer and cooler in the winter.
  • The office and retail spaces are climate controlled by the season and location of the facility.
