THE POSITION

The Executive Software Operating System Section within the Operations Division of the Infrastructure and Economic Development Delivery Center is searching for an ambitious and knowledgeable Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1 to join our team. In this role you will have the chance to assist in managing administrative tasks for our advanced technical team supporting the IBM mainframe. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role you will be responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting problems related to Linux MQ and z/OS based applications. Your work will involve reviewing and reporting on the performance of the z/OS operating system and providing recommendations for improvement on the z/OS operating system and providing recommendations for improvement on the z/OS enterprise server computer system. You will also play a crucial role in supporting the Information Management System software that is used by the Department of Transportation and theInfrastructure and Economic Development Delivery Center Technical Services Office for enterprise data base management and database communications. Additionally you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain executive software routines to provide new functions and customized vendor supplied executive software in order to enhance the overall functionality of the system. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of these systems.

- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday with a 60minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) parttime. In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Generalist 2 Applications Developer 2 Database Analyst Information Security Specialist 1 or Network Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance network operation or network maintenance web site development or web site design database maintenance or database development data analysis and data model development administration of information technology security programs or other information technology support/administration services; or
- Three years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance network operation or network maintenance web site development or web site design database maintenance or database development data analysis and data model development administration of information technology security programs or other information technology support/administration services and an associates degree in any information technology field;or
- One year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance network operation or network maintenance web site development or web site design database maintenance or database development data analysis and data model development administration of information technology security programs or other information technology support/administration services and a bachelors degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requirestwo or more years of fulltime professional experience working in an IBM Mainframe Environment.
