Position Summary
As our AVP of MMB you are responsible for leading a book of business and serving as a top Underwriter as well as leading and building a successful team of underwriting professionals. A large part of this role will be analyzing and underwriting renewal business for Commercial Lines. You will be responsible for a $2535M book of business which includes determining risk acceptability pricing underwriting guidelines developing positive agency relationships within assigned territories auditing underwriting files and accounts and improving on underwriting processes. In addition to the underwriting function of your role you will be empowered to lead and develop a team of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants. You will coach and mentor your team on underwriting best practices building their skills and proficiency and help them gain a better understanding of the MGA business and our corporate strategies. You will help guide and teach the next level of leaders (Sr. Underwriters) what it takes to be a successful underwriter and a valuable people leader. As a part of our extended leadership team you will play a key role in collaborating across business units to provide valuable insight and strategic thought partnership to further develop our other business functions and processes such as Distribution Claims Excellence Tech/Ops and Training & Development.What will your job entail

7 years of commercial insurance experience

The target salary range for this position is $160000.00 $200000.00 annually.The wage range for this role considers many factors such as training transferable skills work experience licensure and certification business needs and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Fulltime roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
