You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailBellevue Montessori School is seeking a creative and engaging Science Specialist to lead handson ageappropriate science activities for children ages 3 to 6. This position involves introducing foundational science concepts through observation exploration and guided experimentation in alignment with Montessori principles.
Start Date: August 25th Instruction Start Date: (School Year)
Shift: Hours: Instructional Hours from 1 to 2:30PM Days: Mondays to Thursdays
Pay Rate: $35 to $36 (depending on experience) per instructional hour. The employee will also get paid a separate rate of $23.00 per hour to prep materials.
Reports to: Campus Program Director
Design and deliver interactive inquirybased science lessons that spark curiosity and support early childhood development.
Instruct 1hour lessons with small groups of 810 children.
Integrate Montessori philosophy by encouraging independence exploration and respect for the natural world.
Rotate and maintain engaging science materials aligned with seasonal themes and curriculum goals.
Manage a mixedage classroom with a calm structured and studentcentered approach.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and attend necessary staff meetings and school functions.
Model and promote positive selftalk a growth mindset and respectful discipline strategies.
Support student vocabulary and conceptual understanding through storytelling handson experiments and observation.
Associate or Bachelors Degree in Science or Science related field
Active involvement in science education and ongoing professional development.
Experience managing small classes and inspiring students on their independent learning journey.
Familiarity with the Montessori method preferred but not required.
Emotionally mature funloving and balanced in approach to teaching science.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable using technology
Punctual and reliable
Must be at least 18 years old with legal authorization to work in the United States.
Willingness to complete standard DCYF child care provider requirements:
Infant/Child First Aid & CPR
Blood Borne Pathogen
Food Handler Permit (if it requires experimenting with science)
MMR immunization
TB Test
Background Check & Fingerprinting
