Job Title: Perforator Operator Level I
Pay Rate: $20/hr.
Shift: 1st
Benefits: Medical Dental AD&D
A Level I Perforator Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a perforating machine and the associated rack systems to mill slots or drill holes in pipe including casing and tubing of various diameters and lengths as per customer requirements.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to proficiently perform a prejob checklist to confirm that all equipment used in the perforating of pipe is in proper working condition and can be operated in a safe and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of the proper care and use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Demonstrate the ability to safely and competently setup and operate a perforating machine and the rack system which moves the pipe in and out of the machine.
- Perform all perforating operations in accordance with all specified requirements including all Standard Operating Procedures and the Injury Illness Prevention Program.
- Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to setup the perforating machine including the saddles to ensure that the product conforms to the customer requirements and generate a first article part for quality control to inspect.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions pertaining to all perforating requirements. This would include the identification of the proper grade dimensional properties and connection types as well as the required perforating pattern including the width length type blank and per foot requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot as necessary the condition of the saw blades the pressure of the saws and the speed of the perforating.
- Assist with maintenance of the machinery including lubrication and fluids.
- Must be able to legibly complete a daily production report.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform math calculations that are required for this role. This includes addition subtraction multiplication and division.
- As required perform overtime and weekend work.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 80 hours of on the job training with a designated trainer or equivalent experience in areas of pipe slotting (Perforating or Round Hole).
WORK RELATIONSHIP
- Works closely with the cleaner operators and forklift operators of the client to ensure that all production activities are optimized for control and efficiency.
- Regardless of other duties has a responsibility to follow all pertinent production safety and quality procedures.
- Reports to Shop Supervisor.
