Summary

This position is for an Engineer II III or Senior Engineer performing the role of an Engineering Project Manager / Control Account Manager (CAM)in the Purchased Products Center of Excellence.

The candidate will be responsible for planning executing and monitoring projects through project management activities including but not limited to: defining scope developing schedules estimating costs monitoring funding and tracking risks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates determines and drives project management activities for multiple moderately complex projects.
  • Defines and establishes schedule elements and framework maintains schedule accuracy and execution and tracks project milestones.
  • Develops cost estimates establishes budget baselines and ensures funding commitments remain on track for projects and deliverables.
  • Provides primary guidance and support for financial planning preparation execution monitoring and reporting as required for project execution.
  • Leads project investigations to identify sources of variance and completes tasks to realign budget.
  • Documents project risks and evaluates their potential impacts to the program.
  • Regularly prepares and presents project status reports to internal Program Management and external Federal Program Managers.
  • You must have effective communication and presentation skills.
  • You must be able to handle ambiguous situations and adapt to changes in real time.
  • You must be proficient in MS office products (Outlook Excel Word and PowerPoint).

You Must Have

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from anaccredited program.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in engineering analytical or related technical activities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote hybrid or onsite as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

We Value

  • Engineering Project Manager or Control Account Manager experience.
  • Experience preparing material for and presenting Project Status updates to a range of audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools (IPCS Primavera P6 ERP IFMS).
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) principles and processes.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of business concepts and principles associated with project forecasts and costs.
  • Established knowledge of customers products technologies and processes.
  • Applied engineering experience in a technology and/or manufacturing environment.
