Summary
This position is for an Engineer II III or Senior Engineer performing the role of an Engineering Project Manager / Control Account Manager (CAM)in the Purchased Products Center of Excellence.
The candidate will be responsible for planning executing and monitoring projects through project management activities including but not limited to: defining scope developing schedules estimating costs monitoring funding and tracking risks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluates determines and drives project management activities for multiple moderately complex projects.
- Defines and establishes schedule elements and framework maintains schedule accuracy and execution and tracks project milestones.
- Develops cost estimates establishes budget baselines and ensures funding commitments remain on track for projects and deliverables.
- Provides primary guidance and support for financial planning preparation execution monitoring and reporting as required for project execution.
- Leads project investigations to identify sources of variance and completes tasks to realign budget.
- Documents project risks and evaluates their potential impacts to the program.
- Regularly prepares and presents project status reports to internal Program Management and external Federal Program Managers.
- You must have effective communication and presentation skills.
- You must be able to handle ambiguous situations and adapt to changes in real time.
- You must be proficient in MS office products (Outlook Excel Word and PowerPoint).
You Must Have
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from anaccredited program.
- Two or more years of relevant experience in engineering analytical or related technical activities.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remote hybrid or onsite as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
We Value
- Engineering Project Manager or Control Account Manager experience.
- Experience preparing material for and presenting Project Status updates to a range of audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools (IPCS Primavera P6 ERP IFMS).
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) principles and processes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Advanced knowledge of business concepts and principles associated with project forecasts and costs.
- Established knowledge of customers products technologies and processes.
- Applied engineering experience in a technology and/or manufacturing environment.
