Schedule: Full Time 40 or Part Time 24 hours per week 8a 4:30pm with flexible scheduling

Department: Kresge Health & Rehab Center Memory Care Assisted Living and Independent Living Chelsea Retirement Community Chelsea MI

What Youll Do in This Role:

TheCertified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)assists in providing rehabilitative services to people with mental physical emotional or developmental impairments as part of inhouse rehab services in SNF Assisted Living Memory Care and Independent Living.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan implement and administer programs that restore or enhance functional abilities.
  • Assists occupational therapists in executing treatment plans.
  • Monitors patients performance during therapy activities and provides encouragement.
  • Instruct patients and families on home programs daily living skills and the proper use of adaptive equipment.
  • Observes and records patients progress attitudes and behaviors maintaining accurate client records.
  • Reports patient progress attitudes and behaviors to supervisors.
  • Performs clerical duties as needed to support therapy services.

What Youll Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited Therapy program
  • 1 2 years of related experience
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant state license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance
