Job Description

Pay Grade/Pay Range:Minimum: $44200 Midpoint: $55300 (Salaried E6)

Department/Organization:209317 Early College

Normal Work Schedule:Monday Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some nights & weekends required.

Note to Applicants:Position is eligible for hybrid work subject to University policy.

Job Summary:The Academic Advisor I provides guidance to University students on academic progress courses University resources etc. Identifies courses to be completed in upcoming semesters. Explains University and College policies. May teach compass course as needed.

Additional Department Summary:Provides the academic advising of all UA Early College students. Develops each students annual plan of study. Oversees approval of academic plans. Ensures that students enroll in appropriate academic courses. Coordinates communication between appropriate UAEC faculty and staff UAEC parents and high school personnel. Maintains appropriate database systems and records. Assists in marketing recruiting and coordination of delivery of UA Early College programs and services.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and one (1) year of work experience in K12 higher or continuing education or technology. Must be able to work days nights weekends and travel occasionally as needed.

Skills and Knowledge:Ability to plan develop and administer academic advising. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with various groups of high schoolage students and educators. Basic computer skills (Word Excel Outlook etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in education instructional technology communications or business. Experience with database management. Experience with customer relationship management systems. Experience with UA systems (i.e. Banner SARS).
