    Job Description:

    Aims Community College actively supports an environmentthat embraces the Colleges Mission Vision Values and a culture of innovation and care.     This position is eligible for an additional annual stipend ranging from $4373.40 $6093.37 depending on the applicants education and/or years of applicable work experience. This stipend is subject to annual renewal and is not a part of the base salary.

    FullTime Automotive Faculty. This is a FullTime due process benefited Faculty position beginning Fall Semester 2025.

    The faculty member will conduct their assignments and cocurricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. The faculty member is also responsible for professional development and service to the college.

    Aims Community College partners with over 70 high schools across Northern Colorado providing students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. These experiences range from Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificate pathways to full associate degree programs. This specific faculty position is a collaboration between Aims Community College and Weld RE4 School District supporting the launch of a newly established Career and Technical Education Center. The Career Center will offer multiple careerfocused pathways including a twoyear Diesel Program. This faculty role will be based at the District Career Center where the instructor will be responsible for developing the program and serving as its primary instructor. As this position is embedded in a high school setting it follows many of the standard operational expectations of high schools including attendance tracking parentteacher conferences and adherence to the school calendar. This is a fulltime inperson position requiring onsite presence five (5) days a week.

    Teach classes on a morning afternoon evening weekend and/or combined schedule as assigned. In addition to participating in institutional/department recruiting and retention activities duties will also include advising new and returning students through the occupational Certificates and AAS Degree Programs. Develop and/or modify curriculum as necessary to meet the changing technology of the automotive service repair and management field. Assist the program director in the daily operational tasks including the selection acquisition repair and maintenance of program equipment and facilities.

    Participate in department program division and college meetings activities and comply with all Aims Community College and ASE Educational Foundation/NATEF policies and procedures including program certifications. Attending classes seminars and workshops to stay current in the professional areas of teaching and technical automotive service technology repair is a required activity. Must acquire and track 40 hours of yearly technically specific professional development and training to maintain current and relevant skills and training. Position will require extensive tasks in regards to meeting area shop owners shop maintenance and scheduling as required. AYES/Career Academy/Concurrent Enrollment/SkillsUSA and like program coordination and participation involvement is also part of the job required job duties. Student and prospective students interaction and participation in program related activities including recruiting tours SkillsUSA Automotive student clubs and other activities including the Annual Aims Automotive Car Show are requirements. Assisting in the Automotive Programs in evaluation and selection adoption and acquisition of equipment textbooks other resources and materials is necessary as is pricing bid and item acquisition. Moving staging set up testing teardown inventory and disposition of vehicles equipment materials and supplies is a required activity. Responsible for creating maintaining instructional materials and student records such as syllabus tests and grades.

    Implementation of the Aims Community Colleges mission statement and goals while completing the department program and division goals/directives as assigned is expected. Retrieval Inventory Maintenance Repair and Disposal of Aims Automotive Instructional Fleet Vehicles is a required role of this position. This includes the repair of all student instructional lab projects to preinstructional condition. Additionally this position is responsible for maintaining program vehicles and their condition. Participate in partner organizations and manufacturer trainings testing program development student development training program representation instruction and testing certification as required. Teaching of stacked or multiple classes or sections at the same time is an understood expectation. Follow all Program Rules Regulations and Standard Operating Practices including Inventory Shop Controls Tool Programs and other Program Requirements.

    Teaching & Professional Obligations:

    • Interacting with students to provide opportunities to learn creating conditions that facilitate learning and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur.
    • Instructional Delivery: Providing clear communication of information and promoting learning through an effective learning environment.
    • Instructional Design: Designing sequencing implementing and presenting experiences which promote student learning (both inperson & online) and designing developing and implementing tools technologies and procedures for assessing studentlearning outcomes.
    • Collaborate in the development and implementation of diagnostic formative and summative assessments of learning for students.
    • Provide effective and highquality instruction of subject being taught.
    • Apply learningcentered educational practices such as creating and communicating clearlydefined outcomes for student learning.
    • Provide a diverse array of learning activities that directly tie to those defined outcomes.
    • Use assessment data to improve instruction and learning and participate in an ongoing CollegeWide dialogue about teaching and learning.
    • Develop and refine department curriculum as necessary to maintain currency in pedagogy and content.
    • Adopt new teaching methodologies as appropriate.
    • Implement department division and/or institutional goals as assigned.
    • Maintain office hours turn in grades on time meet assigned classes.
    • Submits course syllabi and other required documents on time.
    • Manages the classroom facility.
    • Keeps accurate attendance and grade records.
    • Meets other professional obligations as stated in the Faculty Annual Plan and Evaluation.
    • Other Duties as Assigned.

    Scholarly & Creative Activities (Professional Development) & Service to the College:

    • Endeavors related to a faculty members teaching assignment that contribute to the discovery dissemination and practical application of knowledge and/or skill.
    • Acquire and/or maintain certification.
    • Attend conferences workshops and/or training appropriate to ones field.
    • Complete coursework related to ones teaching assignment.
    • Create teaching methodology and instructional design.
    • Other activities that contribute to keeping current in the content field.
    • Helping the College meet the goals and objectives of its mission and strategic plan.
    • Provide competent advising to students seeking AAS AS and/or AA Degrees and program certificates.
    • Fulfill College service requirements by making meaningful contributions on campus and/or to community service groups.
    • Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities. Assist in the evaluation and selection of textbooks and other resources and materials in ones assigned area.
    • Serve on department division and institutional committees.
    • Assist in program and curriculum review revision and the development and assessment of learning.
    • Maintain classrooms and/or labs.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to embrace and apply the provisions of the Colleges mission statement purpose philosophy and commitment to diversity.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associates Degree in related field such as Diesel Power Mechanics OR the ability to obtain this degree within twoandahalfyears (2.5) of beginning employment: plus
    • Two (2) years (4000 hours) of relevant industry experience

    • Current industry license/certification plus 6000 hours (3 years) of relevant industry experience.
    • Shall hold or qualify for a fulltime postsecondary vocational credential in Automotive issued by Aims Community College CTE Office.     • This position requires the use of a company vehicle for business travel. The selected candidate must successfully pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance.

    • Must have the knowledge of and experience with personal computers as well as using systems relating to automotive service repair and automotive service instruction.
    • Must be able to build test banks operate and maintain automotive service industry equipment.
    • Requires the ability to work with more than one student(s) simultaneously during a stacked class block schedule.

    • Ability to teach using methodologies that support a studentcentered learning environment.
    • Computer literacy and the ability to use computer technology in classroom/lab instruction.
    • A willingness to take classes in teaching methods curriculum development computer applications or other coursework deemed necessary by the Department Chair Academic Dean or Program Director.
    • A positive attitude toward teaching courses in varied modalities including online synchronous remote and traditional facetoface.

    • Three (3) years in Automotive Diesel repair with an established repair facility or business.
    • Prior automotive teaching experience in an accredited secondary or postsecondary institution within the past five (5) years.
    • Experience in College/High School recruitment.
    • Extensive software and equipment knowledge of Alldata ProDemand ATECH Equipment CDX Automotive Program ConsuLab Equipment Mustang Dyno equipment Identifix.
    • Service advising experience automotive service management experience automotive dealership management experience.
    • Microsoft Office Product extensive experience including Word Excel and Outlook.
    • Experience in auto shop management administrative activities related to budgeting accounting procurement and personnel management.
    • Snapon Diagnostic Tool Certifications. Hunter Alignment and Wheel/Tire Equipment Certifications COATS Wheel and Tire Certifications Pro Cut Brake Certifications EPA Section 609 HVAC Certification.
    • D2L Educational Platform experience.
    • Student activities or club experience civic club or community engagement activities public facing event participation (car shows trade shows).
    • Experience servicing Heavy Diesel Equipment and or vehicles.
    • ASE Certified in Medium/Heavy Truck (T1 T8 F1).
    • Experience teaching and supporting traditionally underserved student populations.
    • A demonstrated aptitude for developing course content and teaching in varied modalities: online synchronous remote traditional facetoface and blended (hybrid) versions of each.
