Job Posting:First/Second Grade Combo Bilingual Teacher Job Description: Westbury Friends School is growing! Join our humble team of 9 full time teachers and 3 part time teachers/assistants with over 50 students. We are currently looking for a Bilingual English & Spanish Teacher for theschool year with a number of 10 students and hopefully beyond. Qualifications:Fluency in English & SpanishHolds a minimum of a bachelor s degree in Elementary Education or related field3 years minimum of teaching experience Experience working with young children and readiness to lead group activities independently in English & SpanishAttention to the role of diversity and identity in a community and a recognition of ones own biases and how they may impact ones perspectives and actionsStrong communication skillsEstablishing a strong rapport with students and families Responsibilities Creating a classroom environment built with love respect and positive rapportEffectively manages student behavior through implementation of classroom rules and clear expectations with the schools positive behavioral systemCollaborating with the Head of School & Teachers on all aspects of classroom instruction and student support for community engagement Assisting planning and teaching lessons in all curriculum areas including Morning Meetings in English & Spanish with the Spanish Team Learning the grade level curriculum instructional frameworks and best practices in teaching and how to implement them independentlyAssisting with classroom routines and tasks such as record keeping attendance dismissal planning materials preparation and data collectionAdditional duties related to the safe operation of a Lower School (i.e. arrival lunch dismissal)Participating in parent communication including Back to School Night report card writing and Parent/Guardian conferences and occasional weekend fundraising and community building events Attending Mandatory after school meetings and professional development sessions BenefitsSalary and benefits are modest and will be offered commensurate with experience and credentialsThe salary range for this position is $5060K Small community small class sizesSpacious areas for creating and teaching (indoors & outdoors) Increase awareness of culture diversity and community building
