This role reports firsthand information of news events national and international. The news correspondent provides to the audience context analysis and different perspectives.
Responsibilities:
Daily coverage of news events primarily from the Los Angeles bureau and surrounding areas.
Provide live onair reports.
Contribute to the editorial line of the day pitching stories and exclusive reports or interviews.
Travel to cover breaking news or scheduled news events.
Work in a fast paced deadline driven environment for the late newscasts and weekend. Also flexibility to work the early morning shift and adapt to lastminute schedule changes.
Actively search for content in all platforms including social media and streaming.
Write compelling and accurate scripts.
Work in collaboration with assignment editors executive producer producers and writers.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in journalism Communications or equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a newsroom in Spanish
Experience creating digital video content in a newsroom is helpful.
Strong editorial knowledge
Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment. Strong storytelling
Ability to work under tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast.
Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
Available for early mornings nights weekends and holidays.
Social Media knowledge
Salary Range $140000 $145000
Eligibility Requirements:
