The Role:

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to develop stateoftheart algorithms and techniques for sense making and sensor decision making from signal detection and classification to electronic support measures attack and protection to cognitive EW and more. You will lead projects and proposal efforts lead and advise fellow researchers scientists and engineers on multidisciplinary teams spread across multiple STR campuses. You will seek to understand customer missions and in turn construct proposal and program plans to meet their current and future needs.

What you will do:

• Engage directly with customers to understand their unique requirements and national security needs and shape our solutions to meet their objectives
• Lead projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Design and apply cuttingedge signal processing and machine learning techniques to solve complex radar and RF sensing and countersensing challenges
• Support business development initiatives and lead writing efforts playing a key role in shaping the future direction of our projects and organization

Who You Are:

• This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government.
• BS MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics Physics or related technical discipline
• 510 years of relevant work experience depending on degree (PhD 5 years or BS 10 years)
• Experience on EW or Radar programs including the development of sensor system modes and advanced signal and dataprocessing algorithms frommathematical/analyticalderivation through testing and verification of system performance
• Expertise in two or more of the following areas:
  • RF/radar signal processing optimization waveform design electronic warfare machine learning adaptive signal processing AI/ML algorithm development algorithm development model & simulation systems engineering test engineering radar modelling or RF systems prototyping
• Experience providing technical briefs to subcontractors senior level executives and customers
• Proficiency in one or more scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB Python and C/C
• Experienced researcher and team member who is excited to work with mission partners to leverage cuttingedge technology and research for immediate impact
• Excellent communicator and briefer who is comfortable communicating with both technical and nontechnical audiences
• Strong mathematical troubleshooting written and verbal communication skills

Even Better:

• Active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
• Demonstrated leadership of complex research development and engineering efforts
• Experience with:
  • Radar and RF technologies in the defense sector particularly for RF sensing and electronic warfare applications including electronic attack electronic protection cognitive EW radar signal processing optimization and advanced ESM techniques and algorithms
  • Machine learning tasks such as natural language processing image recognition semantic segmentation reinforcement learning approaches such as Bayesian deep convolutional and graph neural network methods and tools such as PyTorch Ray TensorFlow/board and MLflow
  • Interacting with decisionmakers and customers to translate mission needs into an endtoend solution
• Ability to apply novel innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to challenging engineering problems
