We are currently looking for a People Business Partnerto join our PeopleFunction within the Corporate group.

This is a fulltime opportunity on a permanent basis. The role can be based in 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf London E14 4PU or South Mimms Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible hybrid way of working with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role this can flex up to 12 days a month with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

Whats the role

The post holder will develop deliver and maintain a business focussed People Business Partnering service that meets the strategic and tactical needs of identified groups/departments and the Agency as a whole and liaise as appropriate with others in the People team who have a specialist focus and/or provide more operational support. There are three People Business Partner roles overseen by a Head of People Business Partnering and each takes the lead for a number of specific groups within the Agency. This post has line management responsibility for an Assistant People Business Partner and will provide guidance and support to HR Advisors within the team.

The post holder will work in partnership with People team colleagues to deliver and contribute to the development and implementation of the People strategy in line with Agency strategy and business plans. The post holder will contribute to the overall management of the People function and deputise as appropriate for other senior colleagues as a member of the People functions senior management team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop excellent knowledge of each accountable business area in order to assist directors/senior managers proactively in support of improved business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of programmes of change where needed to support the interests of the group/department and Agency. Scope and deliver any organisation design and structure improvements.
  • Participate in business planning for the groups/departments and contribute to strategic direction by translating business goals into prioritised people activities.
  • Manage cross group/department people related strategic projects and ensure they are planned and executed successfully to agreed outputs timescales and costs.
  • Maintain and foster sound employee relations by advising and guiding managers on current legislation and lead on peoplerelated aspects of complex employee relations cases/proposed changes to organisation structures.

Who are we looking for

Oursuccessful candidatewill have:

  • CIPD qualification Level 5 or above or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills including influencing relationship building and collaboration
  • Expert knowledge and experience of complex employee relations case work
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and best practice with proven ability to apply it in practice
  • Proven track record of leading managing and handling the people aspects of organisational development and delivering major change programmes
