Residential Support Worker

Location: Ipswich Suffolk

Salary:up to 29500 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract/Hours:Permanent Full Time 37 hours per weekwe will also consider applications for Parttime and casual Residential support workers.

Closing date: Midnight on the 29th May 2025.

Hestia House is a warm welcoming 4beded residential home supporting children 818years with disabilities and complex needs. We are passionate about creating a safe fun and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

A bit about the Role

As a residential support worker you will play a vital role in helping young people transition into our service working closely with them to understand and meet their unique needs. Youll support them in building confidence independence and life skills maximising their opportunities for a bright and positive longterm future.

This is a handson rewarding role where no two days are the same. Whether its playing on the Xbox getting creative with arts and crafts cooking bouncing around at jump In or enjoying a sunny day at the beach youll be actively involved in the fun creating meaningful experiences with the children every day.

Residential support workers at both entry and senior levels are warmly welcome applications from individuals whose values resonate with those of Action for Childrens is paramount. How youll help create brighter futures at entry level

In the role of Residential Support Worker youll be:

  • Providing lead case/care planning management including assessing reviewing and managing risk.
  • Coordinating responsibilities within the service with multi agency and producing family information including analysis and written reports.
  • Attending professional meetings including reviews court work etc.
  • working collaboratively with your team with the primary aim of the provision of a highquality service
  • Supervising and guiding staff as required in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
  • Leading by example with the application of Action for Childrens policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements.

Lets talk about you

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge We are looking for someone with a can do attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:

  • Experience of leading Shifts in a Care would be an advantage but not essential as we will provide you with the opportunity to learn how to lead shifts
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) If you dont have the qualification we will provide you with the training to gain the level 3.
  • Experience and training in safeguarding.
  • An innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience of Developing/ experience of adhering to detailed support plans this can then show willingness to adhere to complex support plans
  • The ability to create a fun and safe environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
