The Space Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. Due to the secure nature of the programme you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be 5 days a week on site in Reading.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
CGI is seeking an Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major infrastructure refresh. Youll oversee a 15 strong team manage end to end delivery and ensure the project meets all milestones on time on budget and to quality standards. This is a hands on on site role based at our Reading offices with occasional travel to client sites for key milestone meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Own the project lifecycle from initiation through to close out coordinating with technical teams and stakeholders.
Team Management: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of circa 15 resources balancing workloads and optimising performance.
Scheduling & Planning: Develop maintain and monitor a detailed project schedule in MS Project adjusting timelines as needed to meet deliverables.
Risk & Dependency Management: Identify assess and mitigate risks and dependencies; escalate issues proactively.
Stakeholder Reporting: Provide weekly status reports and presentations to the Director ensuring transparency around progress risks and next steps.
Client Engagement: Represent CGI in client meetings build strong relationships and manage expectations throughout the project.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
IT Project Management: Proven track record managing complex infrastructure or technical projects.
MS Project Expertise: Advanced skills in Microsoft Project for planning tracking and reporting.
Multi Workstream Coordination: Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple workstreams and resource allocations simultaneously.
Technical Acumen: Previous infrastructure experience or strong technical background to effectively liaise with engineers and vendors.
On Site Commitment: Willingness and ability to work from CGIs Reading offices five days a week.
