Job Description

Summary/Objectives

The Hegla Tech processes glass at top speed and with maximum procession. All team members rotate breakout seamer and slotting positions for performance and ergonomics. In this role you will work as a team to safely process glass while meeting our daily weekly and monthly production goals.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Proficiently breakout glass while ensuring quality
  • Seam glass using proper technique for a quality edge
  • Manually unload glass from table to rack or harp using proper lifting technique while maintaining productive pace (50lbs)
  • Slot lites on carriers according to sequential assembly requirements
  • Physically push/pull racks of glass to staging areas
  • Operate electric pallet jack to move carriers to staging areas
  • Proper use of cardboard based on glass makeup
  • Perform visual inspections to identify defects such as dirt chips and distortion to ensure Cardinal quality
  • Performs duties in a safe manner using all required personal protective equipment
  • Support safety by maintaining a neat and organized work area encouraging 5s through the cleanliness at the line sweeping and clearing glass as necessary
  • May perform other duties or work in other areas as instructed to balance workloads or meet production needs

Hegla Tech II Requirements

  • Efficient with all essential functions
  • Work well under pressure
  • Take initiative

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to frequently lift glass that may weigh up to 50 lbs individually and 100lbs with partner
  • Ability to work 12hour shifts with a mix of walking/standing
  • Basic mathematical skills as related to measurements
  • Ability to operate power industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders
  • Ability to take supervision and follow all policies and procedures
  • Familiar with operating power tools
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills
