ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Racing Valets are responsible for attending to Jockeys at racetrack by performing the following duties. Saddles horse and adds weighted saddle pad to meet weight specifications for race. Places number on saddle to correspond with horses entry number in race. Reads color assignment chart and obtains specific colors of silks from color room corresponding to stable colors. Unsaddles horse after race and returns riding equipment to storage area. Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions. All other duties as assigned by management.
QUALFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or up to one month related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess strong communication skills be flexible and detail oriented. Must be able to obtain an Indiana Horse Racing License. Ability to read a limited number of two and threesyllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino is a smoking establishment therefore must be able to work in a smoking environment. Must be able to work in a highly populated fastpaced and noisy environment.
